La Bodeguita del Medio

La Bodeguita del Medio

Bartender Cesar said nowadays he is making simply “too many” mojitos a day. This place, popularized by Hemingway, has never seen a shortage of patrons. Although Bodeguita is famous for its Hemingway haunt mojito, we can’t vouch that this is the best mojito in town. Café del Oriente and La Guarida’s mojitos are tied for the number one spot on our list. A handwritten note by Hemingway, “My mojito in La Bodeguita, my daiquiri in El Floridita,” is treated like a shrine on the shelf. The walls are scribed with tourists’ comments, and this has become an important part of its décor. There’s also a spacious dining room behind the bar. Especially if you are a Hemingway fan, it’s worth stopping by for a mojito.
