Statistically speaking, Cuba is very safe, with the lowest crime rate in Latin America. That doesn’t mean you should let your guard down in Havana. Use common sense, as you would anywhere. That means avoiding dark, unlit areas at night; making sure someone knows your expected whereabouts if you’re out and about alone; and being careful about trusting strangers.
