El Palenque, a large Havana food court, a local institution, stands out as an unpretentious and authentic eating spot that that attracts a large number of Cuban families and foreigners. It can be crowded and lively, but it is a great way to feel Havana and sample popular favorites such grilled pork, chicken, pizza and various seafoods. You won’t got away hungry unless you want to. Go there if you want a non-touristy local dining experience. We loved the grilled pork, which was simple and perfectly seasoned. The ice cream was also a hit. Prices are very affordable; a meal for two might costs around $20 CUC or less.
