Cigar Review: Trinidad Fundadores (1988)

cuban cigar, trinidad fundadores 1998

This is a phenomenal cigar still. It was boxed the year the cigar was launched, 1998. As I wrote in the past, this cigar was originally the special gift that Fidel Castro gave away and only came in unmarked boxes of 100 sticks. But the Cubans decided to go commercial with it in 1998. The release cigars had a band very similar to the original gift smokes. Now they are different. Anyway, this cigar now smokes wonderfully still with deep and intense coffee bean, tobacco and bark as well as spices on the palate. Blockbuster smoke for a long, elegant and aged cigar.
